ONE Young World

As an Ambassador, I am part of a network of 10,000 young leaders in 196 countries from global and national companies, NGOs, universities and other forward-thinking organisations working to accelerate change.

The OYW summit gathers together the brightest leaders from around the world, empowering them to make lasting connections to create positive change. At the Summit, delegates debate, formulate and share innovative solutions for the pressing issues the world faces. Working alongside OYW Counsellors that included Justin Trudeau, Emma Watson, Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, Sir Bob Geldof, Kofi Annan, Sir Richard Branson, Meghan Markle, Professor Muhammad Yunus, Jamie Oliver, Jack Dorsey and Mary Robinson, and Akon, the young leaders work on their own initiatives or lend the power of the One Young World network to those initiatives already in existence. Of those in employment, many return to their companies and set about creating change from within, energising their corporate environment.

National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Benin, Nigeria

Public Relations Assistant

I led the editorial team that was set up to oversee the production of the NYSC magazine. I was primarily responsible for the creation, editing and proof-reading of press releases and news articles. In my role, I helped strategized several campaigns and government-funded projects: brainstormed plans with team members, drafted proposals based on need and budget, planned the flow of attendance for events and mobilized  people to attend.

The NYSC scheme was created in a bid to reconstruct, reconcile and rebuild the country after the Nigerian Civil War. The unfortunate antecedents in Nigeria´s national history gave impetus to the establishment of the National Youth Service Corps by decree No.24 of 22nd May 1973 which stated that the NYSC is being established "with a view to the proper encouragement and development of common ties among the youths of Nigeria and the promotion of national unity".
